Our state's ABCs accountability model looks at the school as a whole and at the growth of individual students. There is a new measurement tool in the federal No Child Left Behind Act that reports school performance by groups of students.
There will be schools that are performing well on the ABCs accountability program that will not make the No Child Left Behind standard of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). AYP is measured by groups of students meeting set targets.
